2–5 Months*
03
Up to 4 Years
04
Permanent Residency
*Subject to individual eligibility and decisions by the competent French authorities.
To meet the France residency by investment requirements, applicants must demonstrate compliance with the following criteria, reviewed by our legal team.
At least €300,000 as a qualifying direct economic investment with employment commitments. A passive property purchase does not qualify
No criminal convictions in any jurisdiction; full background disclosure required at application stage
Complete KYC documentation and certified proof of legitimate source of investment funds
Comprehensive health insurance valid in France for the full duration of the permit period
Proof of your address in France, such as a lease. A property you buy to live in is proof of address only; it does not count as the investment
A business plan for the investment, including your commitment to create or safeguard jobs in France
Our structured process is designed for clarity, speed, and compliance — guided by specialist immigration and investment counsel at every stage.
Step One
Free preliminary eligibility assessment (informal, no commitment) of your profile, investment capacity and target residency outcome
Step Two
Identification of qualifying investment vehicle, full KYC compliance, and source-of-funds assessment
Step Three
Your funds are placed in a lawyer-regulated CARPA escrow account, then identity (KYC), anti-money-laundering and source-of-funds checks are completed
Step Four
Full application package submitted to the French consulate with all supporting documentation
Step Five
After approval, your funds leave escrow and are invested in the eligible French company. In France, you then apply for your multi-year talent card
A complete file is the simplest way to show you meet the France residency by investment requirements. Most applications are built around the documents below; the official conditions are set out on Service-Public.fr, the French administration website.
A passport valid for your planned stay, with copies of the identity pages and of any previous French or Schengen visas
Evidence of at least €300,000 invested in France, with the company and investment records that support it
Details of the jobs the investment will create or safeguard in France, or your formal commitment to create or safeguard them
Bank statements and certified records that trace the investment money from its origin to the French company
A health insurance certificate valid in France for the permit period, plus a lease, deed or other proof of address in France
Marriage and birth certificates if your spouse and dependent children will join you on a “talent-famille” card
These points cause problems even for applicants who otherwise meet the France residency by investment requirements. Check each one before you file. To weigh this route against other French residence permits, see our comparison guide.
Your investment structure shapes how your file is assessed. Confirm your structure fits the France residency by investment requirements before you commit funds
Funds that cannot be traced are hard to explain later. Keep a bank record of every transfer, from the original source to the investment
Your spouse and dependent children can be included alongside your own application. Prepare their documents from the start
If you live abroad, the long-stay visa application is lodged with the French consular authorities in your country of residence
From initial assessment to permanent residency pathway — a transparent view of what to expect at every stage of your journey.
Note
Overall, allow 2 to 5 months* from onboarding to your residence card. Our team monitors your application status throughout the process. *Subject to individual eligibility and decisions by the competent French authorities.
